The Athens Derby

It’s considered one of the greatest rivalries in all of sports: Olympiacos vs Panathinaikos. These two Greek soccer teams have been battling for more than one hundred years. Set from different parts of Athens, the rivalry has always sparked intense matchups and some hatred.  

When we went there, there was still a ban in effect — no opposing fans are allowed in the stadium, so we had to wear the color green and root for Panathinaikos. We also learned about Gate 13, the place where the ‘ultra fans’ sit. It was scary - but also an insane spectacle to see!
