The World Through Games

Hi. We’re a family of five — and we really love sports.

A lot.

In January 2025, we packed up our life in Los Angeles and moved abroad as part of a school program where we live in a new place every few months. Since then, we’ve lived in Spain, Italy, Greece, and beyond — and everywhere we go, sports seem to be a big part of the culture.

So we had an idea.

What if we learned about the world through games?

That’s how 80 Games Around Our World started.

The plan is simple (but also kind of crazy):
go to 80 sporting events around the world and experience them the way families do — not just the game, but the food, the fans, the history, and how it feels to be there.

Sometimes it’s a huge rivalry in an ancient stadium.
Sometimes it’s a marathon with people running for someone they love.
Sometimes it’s a sport we didn’t even know existed until we showed up.

We’re not experts.
We ask a lot of questions.
We get nervous.
We get cold.
We get excited.
And sometimes we end up doing things we never imagined — like standing on a ski jump, cooking with a Greek grandma, or running onto a stadium track at the finish of a marathon.

Our dad is a sports producer, so he helps us tell the story.
Our mom keeps everything running (and makes sure we eat).
And we get to share what we see through our eyes.

80 Games isn’t about winning or losing.
It’s about curiosity.
It’s about connection.
It’s about learning that sports mean different things in different places — and that people everywhere care deeply about them.

We’ve already learned that the world is way bigger — and way cooler — than we ever imagined.

And we’re just getting started.
